Although I bake my moin moin most of the time, I prefer the steamed one. The steam adds extra moisture to the moin moin that one cannot get with the oven method. I try to create the steam effect in the oven by placing the ramekins in a water bath.
I recently purchased a pudding steamer pot, it is amazing. I steamed a chocolate cake instead of baking in it and it was so lovely and moist, I didn’t need cream. And I am very partial to cream. It made sense to try this with moin moin, the result was a very moist, fluffy giant moin moin cake.
I followed the method I used here and poured the mixture into the steam pot and steamed for about 40 minutes.
